Kurbis und Kinder

Last night we finally got around to carving our pumpkin or Kurbis as they are called in German. The kids had a alot of fun especially Sarah. Here are a few pictures of the event.

Drawing the face on the pumpkin is a big deal as four people must decide how it should look. We let Sarah pick this year.

Scooping the goo out. Sarah was not shy to do this part.

Joshua loved to touch the sticky goo that came out of the pumpkin.

The final product with our inspiration, a calander picture from their cousins where they picked out the pumpkin face.

We finished just in time because this is what we woke up to this morning the first time in our nine years of living here!

America's Got Talent Comes To BFA

Today, I got a call from Jeff just after noon informing me that an uncle of a BFA student was going to perform a "short" version of an act that he did on the show "America's got talent". The guys name is Dan Meyer andhe was really good. It isn't every day you hear this. When we got to school, I realized what his talent was- sword swallowing! Very amazing to say the least.

Here is a picture that I took of him during his performance for our students. I can assure you that he made his nephew Josh, a friend of Jacob's, the most popular guy on campus today.

Here is a clip of a video from his performance on America's got Talent. If it doesn't work, just type in Dan Meyer and you should be able to see the clip.

Europa Park

On Saturday, we took the kids to a local amusement park. It happens to be their favortie. Since they have benn working hard in school, we thought they needed a treat. The weather was perfect for a day out. Joshua and Sarah did really well too and had fun.

Sarah enjoyed her first taste of cotton candy. She had to fight off Jeff for some.

Joshua liked playing on new toys too.

The kids are posing in front of one of the many pumpkins decorating the park. It was a great family day for everyone.

Costume Parties

This weekend, Jacob and Anna went to special costume parties at their schools. This was the first Halloween themed party at the elementary school. Anna dressed up as snow white.
I accidentally erased Anna's picture from the camera. But I have Jacob in his outfit. He went as Mickey Mouse as the wizard. The middle school had a cartoon theme. His friend Luke went a Donald Duck. They won for best costumes.

Ten months and counting

Well, our Joshua Ryan has hit the big 10 month marker today. Jeff realized that today was his half birthday as well so we sang to both of them this morning. Joshua is so eager to walk. He loves to stand and play and is trying to take a few steps but can't figure out why his legs wobble so much. I'm sure he will figure it out soon. Here are a few pictures of his new adventures.

Because Joshua isn't mobile yet, he is an easy target for his big sisters to dress him up in girly clothes. You can tell by the look on his face that he isn't pleased by the bow.

Joshua enjoys being anchored to furniture in order to strengthen his legs. He is very content to stand for a while so I can get some work done.

Playing with his favorite playmate, big sister Sarah is always fun. We will see what the next month brings for this little guy.
