Christmas 2007

Here are a few pictures from our Christmas celebration. I had some trouble downloading them and am finally able to post some after figuring out the problem.

Joshua seemed to enjoy his first Christmas although he needed help from his big brother to open his gifts. For some reason, Joshua lacked the "moveable appendages". That was a gift from his grandparents in California.

I love the expression on Sarah's face as she looks at this gift to both her and Anna. It is a Fur Real pet and she really thinks that it IS real.

Jacob cleaned up on Lego toys. A church in California sent each of the children three toys to their delight! What a special treat from them and we all feel so cared for!

Gifts for the kids from the Shumans in Bielefeld. Socks for Sarah and a game for Jacob and Anna.

Christmas Vacation

Christmas break has offically begun for us here. The kids are all excited to have time off from school and homework. Last night Jacob and Anna had their Christmas concert. It was Joshua's and mine first time out of the house. Anna had a speaking part in a drama presentation. She did very well. Everyone mobed around me to see Joshua who slept through the whole evening.

Tonight we plan to get our Christmas tree and slowly start to get things together for Christmas. Anna will have one last play date with her bestfriend Caylie before her family leaves for a seven month furlough in Texas.

Jeff's status at BFA has changed from assistant to the principal to "principal- elect" as I put it. He will be taking over as principal in January. Please pray for him as he tackels this new role mid- year. I hope he will be able to enjoy this break somewhat and not stress out about his upcoming duties in the new year.

Sizing Each other up

Jacob and Joshua are already sizing each other up. When ever Joshua starts to cry, Jacob will tell him to "take it like a man." I think that Joshua has a good role model in his big brother what do you think?

All four of our kids like to hang out together and play. Our house is getting a bit more noisy, but it is fun to see so much activity around us. Jeff and I wonder what we are in for with this crew around us.

Welcome to our World!

Finally, on Friday December 7th, we welcomed our second son and fourth child into our family!
Little Joshua Ryan Benjamin was born at 12:51 p.m. at home. He weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and was 20 inches long. Needles to say, we were all very happy when he arrived three days before his due date! Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy. Praise the Lord for this new life to glorify Him!

Still Waiting

I am not sure if anyone is aware that my due date is very close or not. Even though I am still five days away from my offical due date, my past history tells me that I am over due as I have been typically 10 days early. I am getting regular contractions but they are not enough to do much. So, as the doctor keeps telling me, just wait and the baby will let you know when it is time.

So, yesterday, to keep busy, Sarah and I made some cookies. I haven't been able to get much into the Christmas mood yet. I have some decorations up but we have yet to even think about when to go out and buy our tree and set that up. I have yet to even start any Christmas shopping and at this point I think I will leave it up to Jeff to handle it all. After all, I am giving the kids a new baby for Christmas this year! But yesterday I forced myself to get into the holiday mood by playing Christmas music while we made cookies. Here is Sarah helping me by mixing the batter.

Then I caught her in the act of tasting the batter and enjoying it a little too much!

Even in this waiting phase, life still goes on for us. Yesterday after the first batch of cookies came out, Sarah and I sampled one and as soon as I took my first bite, part of a tooth broke off! I had a sharp gaping hole in my tooth and had to go to the dentist this morning for him to give me a temporary filling. I starting feeling some contractions but he was very fast and I told him that he finished before my next contraction started up, I think I scared him with that statement! Jacob also stayed home from school today because of a headache and fever so the kids are all dealing with normal life things as well. This weekend, is full of sleepover birthday activities, home basketball games, and a big school Christmas concert that Jeff is suppose to play in. Do you think we can squeeze in a time to have a baby too? We will see!
